FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISOR COURSE Sunshine

A Food Safety Supervisor is required to hold the national unit competence SITXFSA002 Participate in safe food handling practices.

Courses are delivered via face to face in our classroom at 350 Collins street in Melbourne CBD.

A pre-requisite for successful completion of this qualification is the unit of competence SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety (or equivalent).

All premises (businesses and community groups) that sell food are legally required to ensure that it is safe for people to eat, regardless of the premises’ food safety supervisor requirements.

Failing to comply with the Food Act 1984 (the Act) requirements may lead to:

  • refusal of the registration, renewal of the registration or transfer of the registration of the food premises
  • revocation or suspension of registration of the food premises.

Short Courses Australia provide weekly courses for Food Safety Handlers and Food Safety Supervisors.

The food safety supervisor course covers the following criteria:

  • The Victorian Food Act 1984;
  • Correct food handling procedures;
  • Controlling micro-organisms;
  • Personal hygiene;
  • Environmental hygiene;
  • Temperature control;
  • Thermometer use and recording procedures;
  • Managing your business or community groups food safety plan.

 

TRAINING DELIVERY OPTIONS

This course is deliveed via a face-to-face mode of delivery at Suite 6, Level 6, 350 Collins Street, Melbourne.

If you need to complete the pre-requisite unit please complete a second enrolment into SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety (Food Safety Handler).
